
The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) signaled that they might only pass five of 10 infrastructure projects proposed by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) under public-private partnership (PPP).
Head of BKPM Gita Wirjaman announced that several projects to receive the permits include the 2,000-MW coal power plant in Central Java, the establishment of 35-km railroad from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Manggarai Station, the establishment of the 185-km coal railways in Central Kalimantan, the establishment of Batu Ampar Port in Batam and oil refinery construction.
He believed the final decision of the projects to be declared in September 2010.
Also, as he explained, the projects limitation is to establish a focused infrastructure development and the realization potential for their implementations is bigger.
For projects labeled ‘ready to offer’, they will be presented to the president and vice president to gain their approvals. Next, the administration finalization process may take at least one month.
