Awards

LGS has long been acknowledged as a leader among the region’s law firms. This reputation also supported by the reputable awards received by LGS, which prove the acknowledgment by the legal and business society. The followings are awards that particularly stand out:

1. Nominated as “ Indonesian Deal Firm of the Year” in 2009 by the Asian Legal Business.
2. Nominated in “The Equity Market Deal of the Year” in 2009 for involvement in PT ADARO Energy Tbk. IPO transaction by Asian Legal Business.
3. Nominated as “Indonesia Deal Firm of the Year” by the Asian Legal Business in June 2008.

4. Award for “The Best Corporate Law Firm” in June 2006 by the Young Indonesia Lawyer Club.


5. Award for “South East Asia Merger and Acquisition Deal of the Year” by the Asian Legal Business in February 2006. This was awarded for the PT Adaro Indonesia transaction.

6. Award for “South East Asia Insolvency & Restructuring Deal of the Year” by the Asian Legal Business in February 2006. This was awarded for the Asia Pulp and Paper transaction.


7. Award for “Indonesia Deal Firm of the Year” by the Asian Legal Business in February 2006.


8. Award for “South East Deal of the Year” by the Asian Legal Business in February 2006. This was awarded for the PT Adaro Indonesia transaction.


9. Nominee for “Restructuring Deal of the Year Category”, by IFLR Asian Award 2006. This reputable nomination is based on Asia Pulp and Paper deal.


10. Nominee for “Debt and Equity Linked of The Year Category”, by IFLR Asian Award 2006. This nomination is granted based on Adaro Indonesia transaction.


11. Achievement Award 2005 for “Best Non-Investment Great Bond Deal”, which has been announced in the prestigious Finance Asia magazine of January 2006. This honor was awarded to LGS, who acted as Indonesian counsel, and the other law firms involved in PT Adaro's US$ 400 million Senior Secured Notes Issue.


12. Won the Best Restructuring Deal in Asia by IFLR, Hong Kong, 2003.


13. First Place, Restructuring Category, Asian Legal Deals of the Year 2002.
The restructuring involved debt and corporate restructuring of PT Chandra Asri totaling US$ 1.9 billion.
14. First Place for Equity Category, Asian Legal Deals of the Year 2002.
This rights issue is considered to be the largest equity rising through a rights issue of the year in Indonesia. This project is interlinked with the 2002 debt restructuring of Astra totaling US$ 860 million, which caused the implementation of the rights issue subject to the debt restructuring becoming effective.
15. First Place for “The Best Restructuring Deal in Asia” by IFLR, Hong Kong 2001. This honor was awarded to LGS, who acted as Indonesian counsel, and the other law firms involved in the Asia Pulp and Papers debt restructuring.


16. First Place for “The Best Restructuring Deal in Asia” by IFLR, Hong Kong 2001.This honor was awarded to LGS, who acted as Indonesian counsel, and the other law firms involved in the Second Astra International debt restructuring.


17. Nominee for “The Best Asian Firm” by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), Hong Kong 2001.


18. Nominee for “United Airlines Award for Regional Law Firm of the Year 1999”. Placed among the top firms from Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, LGS was the only Indonesian law firm to be nominated in its own right for this prestigious award.


19. First Place for Restructuring Category, Asian Legal Deals of the Year 1999. This honor was awarded to LGS, who acted as Indonesian counsel, and the other law firms involved in the US$1.2 billion Astra International Debt Restructuring.



The aforementioned honours were awarded based on the results of extensive sampling and in-depth analysis of both clients and peers.
